  1. Grant, Thought I would send a message. Saw the website looks like fun facing your fears. I should do the same. So yeah, I was showing off drawings of the tree of life in Mc Donalds at 4 am. Remember? Anyways. Symbolism rocks. I like your tattoos. I am in Christchurch. My travels will take me to Thailand and India. Facing my fears of India for sure. WHat a country! Take it easy Terry

  2. WOW four months on and there are still messages here and about 50 people a day visiting the site. I feel like i've had an awesome break and ready to hit 2009 with a bang. Hey Arna thanks for the message, most actors get themselves an agent and most agents are in Auckland. Just have a look at yellow pages online for talent agents, and...never give up, never let anyone tell you you can't make it and tell everyone what you want to achieve!

  6. Hey Grant, as a parent I really enjoyed your careers talk at GBHS this week. I have had to read Reject me I love it" to get over my continual mind dialogue on "what people might think" It is so important to set our kids free to be their best and to be unhindered by the limits their teachers/peers/parents put on them. Good on you and I look forward to exploring your website further with my daughter Ellie.Scareiest thing I did - scuba diving with sharks - but you are soo right, I was probably more scared speaking in public! Keep up the inspirational work - and check out a guy called Nick Vujic in NSW for someone who never ever gives up - we love him. Cheers Billy

  33. So the question has been raised, what next? Well I took Sunday off, I'm in Auckland now, the The Rock interview tomorrow morning as well as MoreFm Wellington. Life should never stand stiil and neither will I! Trust me projects are in the planning stages. 30 Fears in 30 Days took, believe it or not, 6 weeks from the idea in my head till 1st August... so just wait till Hayden, Fraser, and Duncan and I have a few more weeks to plan :-) Remember my life is not your life and as much as it's fun to watch the vids you will learn and grow so much more from setting your own goals and challenges and working towards them. Never ever be afraid to look silly, be a genius, I dare you!
    gr4nt, The Thirty Fears Camp

  49. Hi Grant, Best of luck for the rest going to Auckland in the morning back Saturday. I know you can do it may see you on Saturday. Your are the greatest
    Pamela,
  50. I laughed too - though it was very nervous laughter. How you managed to continue after being trodden on was such proof of your commitment to the cause. Loved the video of you back at school too - naughty boy leaving your cell phone on :-) All the very best with the last few fears Grant - and thanks to you, your crew and Duo Media for allowing us to share them with you. I'm having an awesome journey with you - YOU ROCK AND ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL! GO GRANT GO!
    Anne, Wellington
  51. Laughed til I cried when the horse trod on you - sorry, didn't mean to.
    Trish, Wellington
  52. Grant, I am loving watching the video clips of all the 'fears' to date - you are one brave little cookie monster! I admit to NOT being able to watch the nipple piercing video, but the others are brilliant and some quite hillarious (esp the CURRY one)! I have just been told off in the Uni library for having the sound up too loud, so had better get back to assignment writing! Keep up the good work, keep on smiling and can't wait to see you on Breakfast on Monday (scary stuff - Paul Henry will be back)!!
Rachel Shirley (Cupit), Dunedin Uni Library
  53. Hi Declan thank you for saying I am the bravest person in the world. You are very brave to and next time I'm in Wellington I will bring my guitar and we can play the 30 Fears theme. You're a rock star!

  56. You are the bravest person in the world. You are never scared of anything. You never fall off anything that is very high. You never, ever, ever, ever fall off a tree when you are climbing one. You never die. But he's so brave. (direct quotes)
    Declan, 4, Wellington
  57. Amazing to see all the new messages (if you scroll down as well!)- you are so making a difference! Stepped outside my comfort zone 2day - on a far much smaller scale than you - but it was fascinating & a real insight to discover that if you do something out of your comfort zone, but out of choice, as opposed to feeling "forced" to do it (by other people, by circumstances, by inbred perceptions, or whatever) it is so much easier once you make the choice! You have so made those choices, felt the fear but done it anyway, and allowed us all to share it with you! I know I could not do even a minor % of what you are doing - but also I cannot express in words how inspired I am by you & how I admire you & how much I am loving sharing your journey - even if it is just reading the blogs, watching the videos and emailing you! LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING! GO GRANT GO - YOU ROCK! And Discovery - I know you are - and have every right to be - proud of such am Ambassador! Grant is doing a fantastic job! And put me down to staff on Discovery in April 2009! If you want me, I am there!
    Anne, Wellington

  80. THANK YOU to all the people who are leaving messages and being waiting for some of the videos. The guys at Duo Media work full-time, have families, run Duo Media and give their time FREE to 30 Fears so they are going as fast as humanly possible. 99. Hey mate, Thankyou for once again encouraging me to face my fears and do it anyway! We had an absolute blast in Nelson today giving away free hugz. The fear of public humilation and possible rejection be people was definately on my mind when we started this challenge. I was surprised at how well the people of nelson embarassed it tho (literally). We got hugz from hundreds of people a lot I would never have expected would have been up for it but they were. Also it was interesting to see how when one person said yes everyone else seemed to want to too! We even managed to stop traffic in the main street and were giving free hugz to people in the cars! It was fantastic to see how people went away smiling after having a free hug and we are all feeling so positive after a great day! Thanks to everyone who helped out today and made this possible, to the people of Nelson who helped us to raise $120 to go towards Discovery Foundation and gave great hugs, and to you Grant who continues to motivate and challenge us to step outside our comfort zone! Hugz!!!
Cindy & the 30fears support crew in Nelson, Nelson

  101. Hi Grant. My name is Arjun Gill my family owns the Little Indian Restaurants all around the country. I arrived in Nelson on Thursday night. I am here to give Mani a well deserved holiday. Mani showed me the video of you eating your HOT CURRY! My friend you are mad! The amount of chili and our specially made Chili Chutney that went into your dish is enough to destroy a person. When our chefs make the Chili Chutney in the kitchen the fumes alone make your eyes water. I am absolutely amazed you managed to eat it. We would like to put your video on our website and create a link to your website also. Hopefully this will create more exposure of the great work that you are doing. Also because you are so brave or should I say crazy! Little India Bistro & Tandoor would like to contribute $1000 to Discovery for Teens. Thank you Grant and keep up the good work!
    Arjun Gill, Christchurch
