Blog: Cheer Leading at the Makos
Ok I think the photos say it all. Recipe for challenge number 16:
1. Take a highly uncoordinated man
2. Put him in a tight fitting cheerleader outfit
3. Send him out to dance in front of a few thousand guys
I think my challenge for the day is actually putting these photos onto the internet! The crowd didn't really want to be a part of what I was doing and I really had to go inside for the motivation to keep going because I wasn't really getting any energy from the crowd. I felt like a complete idiot. Women might think things like today are funny, but rugby-guys are a completely different thing... uou should have seen some of the looks the guys were giving me! I thought I was going to get lynched! Lucky the mascot was there to protect me.
But that was what today was all about - how often do we not do something because we think we are going to look stupid and people are going to laugh at us or mock us? I don't want that fear to be apart of my life. I don't want to NOT do something because I think people will laugh or put me down. I definitely took a massive step to becoming comfortable being uncomfortable today.
Another added bonus, SKY Sport took some footage and I had put 30fearsin30days.co.nz on my stomach which they got a close up of, who knows what millionaire who ends up wanting do donate to Discovery for Teens was watching...
I'm off for an early night, I've got to be down at Fit Life at 5:30am for my 1/2 Marathon. See you there... or not!
