Blog: Hottest Curry

PART ONE: During this week i have been going on this rollercoaster of emotions where I feel great then really tired and over the whole thing. Being sick has been a real challenge and the intensity of the mid-winter swim and how scary that was has made me have doubts about whether i was going to make it to the 31st August. I sent a text last night to someone who always seems to help me see things I can't see, and started thinking about how cool this whole project is. From a little idea in my head to this massive internet and national media exposure I feel really honoured and humbled that I get to go on this journey, raise the profile of Discovery and change myself in the process. Last night I really realised that life is about choosing an attitude, it's about using the most useful state of mind to get you through a situation. If I choose to be stressed about what's going on around me then i will be stressed, if I choose to be scared I'll be scared, if I choose to be excited I'll be excited!

So I woke up this morning and I choose to be confident, I choose to be excited, and I choose to be focused and energised!

I can't wait to eat this curry and I can't wait to get buried alive! I can't wait to live a life that is on the edge and to the full, with NO expectations, NO hesitations and NO regrets!

See you after dinner...

PART TWO: WOW that was hot! My whole mouth started to swell up and I couldn't talk properly, however I managed to make my way through 2/3 of the curry! I did about 1/2 then though no way can I eat anymore of that without going into anaphylactic shock! Then I remembered a cool quote, "you can keep going long after you think you can't" – so ate some more. I started to sweat and feel really light-headed as I was eating it and seriously it was really painful, even the owner couldn't eat it. Hayden, the camera guy, had one mouthful and was complaining about having a sore stomach for about 30 minutes afterwards. I have been giving some serious thought to how my language effects how I feel about things so from now on FEARS shell be referred to as Challenges, I'll see if the way I talk about things effects how I feel about things which should in turn effect the experience I have.
